Im trying to run a CS:GO server and I did all the steps of several server tutorials but I couldnt connect to my server. the best result I can get is the error "you may connect to this server from lobby" or "this server accepts connections from game lobby" I copied the files stanly told in several tutorials and I created server.cfg with sv_lan 0 and sourcemod.cfg with sv_lan 1 in correct locations. but no luck... I know u guys may get tired answering same questions everyday :P but please! :D I searched and tried for several days! :( can u give me a step by step tutorial? I will do exactly what u will say on a newly downloaded CS:GO server files. and for my client, it is downloaded from this site (please delete this if its against the rules. I tried translating your rules but no good results) :

it has revloader by default and I can join non-steam servers with it...

I can set the server running if you want to test it yourself. I will give you the IP and Port if you needed (don't want to break the rules)

Good afternoon.
You are welcome.

Okay, look. You have two ways how you can install RevEmu on your server. And each of them have some advantages and disadvantages.

First way (with lobby):
On this way no-steam players with original engine.dll will be able to connect to your server. And when they will connect to your empty server, then lobby will be created. But no-steam players with pathed engine.dll (frankly speaking now them are more than with original) won't be able to connect to your server.

For this way you have to install RevEmu as usual (below in my reply), but you don't need to write sv_lan 1 to sourcemod.cfg. And in your rev.ini (in server root) you must have - "EnableNSNetSvc = UDP" (without quotes). And port 6569 should be opened in your server machine.

Second way (without lobby):
On this way no-steam players with original engine.dll won't be able to connect to your server, but players with patched engine.dll will be able to connect to your server. Your server will work in lan mode (without lobby), but steam players will be able to connect to your server too.

For this way you have to install RevEmu as usual (below in my reply) and you need write sv_lan 1 to sourcemod.cfg. But you have to copy patched engine.dll to your client in folder bin instead original engine.dll. Otherwise you won't be able to connect to your server.

Download link engine.dll_patched you have to rename your original engine.dll (for instance like this - engine.dll_orig) in CS:GO\bin and then copy patched version and rename to engine.dll

Instruction to install RevEmu on Windows server:

1. Install server CS:GO using SteamCMD and install SourceMod and MetaMod on the server.
2. Download RevEmu from 06.09.2014 and RevEmu from 22.02.2015 (last version)
3. Open folder [RevEmu 06.09.2014]\server and copy file rev.ini to [ServerRoot][b], file steam_appid.txt no need to copy
4. From folder [b][RevEmu 22.02.2015]
copy folder Steam and libraries - steamclient.dll and Steam.dll to [ServerRoot]\bin
5. Open file [ServerRoot]/csgo/cfg/server.cfg (if you don't have this file, you need create it) using notepad and add "sv_lan 0" (without quotes) in end of file. And you need to write these lines: "host_info_show 2" and "host_players_show 2" (without quotes). After that save file.
6. Open folder [ServerRoot]/csgo/cfg/sourcemod/sourcemod.cfg using notepad and add "sv_lan 1" (without quotes) in end of file. And save file.
7. Launch your server and try connect using no-steam client.

In order to all weapons and stickers will work on your server, you need:
1. Copy file [RevEmu 22.02.2015]/csgo/platform/items_730.bin to [ServerRoot]\platform
2. In the file [ServerRoot]\rev.ini uncomment next line: "#EnableNSNetSvc = UDP". Should be = "EnableNSNetSvc = UDP" (without quotes). And line "#DisableUnlockedItems = True" - have to be comment or like this: "DisableUnlockedItems = False" (without quotes)
3. On the server machine port 6569 should be opened. It is responsible for sent items on the server and back to clients.
4. And restart your server.

Did you download your client from some sites or you download client from Steam and install RevEmu on it yourself?

You can't use lobby in your client if you have patched engine.dll, but if you would have original engine.dll in folder CS:GO\bin then lobby will work and you will able to connect to our server for example.

Our servers: 37.139.106.112:27029 and 37.139.106.112:27028

ok I copied the patched engine.dll to my client and configured a fresh server all over again exactly as you said. but I'm getting the lobby error again :( I'm really sure I did everything right :( maybe its because of my client? :( can you point me to client needed files for connecting to my server? (like rev.ini and others) I will apply all the files again and try... I did everything for 5 days in a row and getting rly tired :P

You are welcome.

You need have original engine.dll in your client in folder - CSGO\bin\. On this way lobby will work for you.
And show me your rev.ini file from your server and write addr of your server.

I was tried alot time with your tut but still can't work lobby. I tried it by myself, game files take from my steam account
- Here's result when I Play with Friend

I'm sure all settings have correct because items have work online/offline. I can connect to my server server by server browser and dirrect connect. Tested on newest version 1.34.7.6
Do you have any ideas?

Im trying the without lobby solution. I copied the patched engine.dll on client and sourcemod.cfg with sv_lan 1 on server. still lobby issue.

ok I tried the TF2 as the same, but I get steam validation rejected error :D

did the same with your CS:GO tutorial. and my engine.dll on client is the original. how can I find a TF2 patched engine.dll file?

Hello again )

You gave me a links to rev.ini with viruses. Therefore you should copy all strings from your rev.ini (client and server) to your next comment in this forum.

I see that your server - 91.98.103.60:27015 with old version - 1.34.7.5. Could you update your server to current version (1.34.7.6) ?

Yes, this tutorial is the same for TF2. But for this game you have to copy items_440.bin

Are you sure, that in your rev.ini (server) you have this line -> "EnableNSNetSvc = UDP" (without quotes) and port 6569 is opened in your server machine?

as for TF2, I could connect to server from steam with original files but when connecting with crack it gives me STEAM validation rejected error. this time I'll run the TF2 server instead and the IP and port is the same.

if this don't work out I wont trouble you anymore stanly. you helped me very much and I'm very grateful :)

sometimes if something don't want to be solved, no one can do anything about it :D even if everything is done right...

you mean the rev-client_440.log on client? here's the logs!


so the problem is NSNet? I enabled it in TF2 rev.ini (i mean it was enabled by default :P)
and port 6569 is open in the server.

rev.ini in your client and server are correct, but you didn't update your CS:GO server to latest version 1.34.7.6
So I ask you update your server to latest version in order to test ccnnect to your server. Because I have client only with latest version.

should I use a patched TF2 engine.dll as well?
my sourcemod.cfg on TF2 server is set to sv_lan 1 too. I connected with steam to my server but my cracked game give me STEAM validation rejected :(
